Barrhead Gala Fortnight and Gala Day 1974.
Barrhead in 1974 was the venue of the newly reformed Gala celebrations which was spread over a fortnight in June. It consisted a host of sports and fun activities including the the crowning of the Gala Queen and the iconic Craige Race. It culminated with Gala Day in the town's Cowan Park after a float procession along the main streets. Pictures by Stephen Mansfield
