Barrhead Gala Day 1987.
Barrhead Gala Day on Saturday 6th June1987 was one of the wettest in it's history however the show went ahead with the usual float parade led by the Neilston and District Pipe Band and majorettes from the local dancing schools. In the Cowan Park events included the iconic pub pram race, the Gala Queen crowning, bonny baby and pipe band competition. Even the bowlers managed to play a few ends in between the showers.
