A feature for the South Side News of a Day in the Life of Glasgow's Lord Provost in 1983, Michael Kelly C.B.E. The local newspaper was given unfettered access to the Provost's everyday engagements from his duties at his office in the City Chambers to his outside engagements and his personal time with his family. Michael was the L.P. of Glasgow from 1980-1984 and was responsible for the 'Glasgow's Miles Better' campaign. Michael was a Scottish Labour politician and businessman and from 1984 he was managing director of public relations company, Michael Kelly Associates. He held the position of Lord Provost of Glasgow from 1980 to 1984 and was Rector of the University of Glasgow from 1984 to 1987. Pictures by Stephen Mansfield.
